Marshall Economic Development Corporation's board of directors unanimously elected Alan Grantham as board chairman during elections at Tuesday's regular meeting.

"I feel honored that I've been entrusted with this responsibility," said Grantham, former vice chairman and in his fifth year on MEDCO's board.

"I've known some of the past chairmen, obviously, and I know how much time and effort they put into this job and how well they did it," he continued. "It's a big responsibility trying to measure up to what they did, so I'll try...I'll do my best."

Newcomer Richard Turner was elected vice chairman and Cedell Mitchell was selected to continue his post as secretary/treasurer.
