Each day I will post photos from my eight days in the Galapagos Islands
The port town of Santa Cruz Island is Puerto Ayora and is the largest settlement in the archipelago. It is the nerve center of both conservation and tourism, and home to the headquarters of the Charles Darwin Research Station and Galapagos National Park Service. Santa Cruz supports a healthy population of wild giant tortoises.
Also on this island are lava tunnels that run for miles underground.
