Girlfriend Weekend: Shine up the tiara

Girlfriend Weekend begins today with a reception Authors from across the United States began arriving in Marshall Thursday preparing for the kick-off of the Pulpwood Queens Girlfriend Weekend that kicks off today in downtown Marshall. The event, which will last all weekend, is hosted by Pulpwood Queens Book Clubs and The Marshall News Messenger. It is the first time the Girlfriend Weekend has been held in Marshall.
Almost 60 authors will be attending and will be presented to the media - also assembling in Marshall from across the country - in the program's first official event, a 4 p.m. media party hosted by Under the Texas Sun and Central Perks in the Weisman Center.
