The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are scheduled to return to Marshall on Tuesday for the 20th anniversary of Wonderland of Lights.
The time of the arrival of the horses and their wagon was not known as of late last week, said Phyllis Bryan, festivals coordinator for Marshall Festivals Inc. Handlers will spend the following day in preparations for nightly shows to be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday around downtown Marshall's courthouse square.
Stable viewing of the team will be held Wednesday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of Wellington and Fannin streets.
The team will participate in the annual downtown lighted Christmas Parade at 6 p.m., Saturday, and there will be viewing opportunities during the week, said Ms. Bryan.
The team, sponsored by Anheuser-Busch Inc., will leave the city the following day.
Publicists for the company note "the rich, colorful history of the special Clydesdale breed begins in the early 19th century, along the River Clyde in Lanarkshire, Scotland."
