Julia Robb: The Return of the Native -- Chateau Bistro
I was driving down Texas Highway 69 Wednesday when I decided to detour through Emory. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a French restaurant, which included a real French chef and sommelier named Elle Moisdon.

Emory, located between Greenville and Mineola, is a typical Texas small town – which means it’s heavy on the Dairy Queen and light on fine dining – and so tiny you can drive through in about one minute.

But there it was, a remodeled gas station dating from the 1940s with a blue canopy sporting a fleur de li, the French national emblem.
