Julia Robb: The Return of the Native -- Chateau Bistro
I was driving down Texas Highway 69 Wednesday when I decided to detour through Emory. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a French restaurant, which included a real French chef and sommelier named Elle Moisdon.
Emory, located between Greenville and Mineola, is a typical Texas small town which means its heavy on the Dairy Queen and light on fine dining and so tiny you can drive through in about one minute.
But there it was, a remodeled gas station dating from the 1940s with a blue canopy sporting a fleur de li, the French national emblem.
