Ive never seen myself as any kind of an activist. A complainer, yes; an activist, no. But, today, as I sat in a public hearing concerning the TXU permit for another coal-fired power plant at Martin Creek, I suddenly realized: I might just be one. I looked around and saw other people like mepeople who live and work in East Texas, and who love their land and their way of life, and who are just there because they see a great threat.
TXU wants to build yet another coal-fired power plant at Martin Creek in Rusk County, and double--yes, double--the amount of poisonous emissions released into our air. And all these activists were there to try, in some way, to prevent it.
