Many East Texans are well aware that Geographic Information Systems can be used to track shuttle debris, help plan ice-truck delivery routes during extended area wide blackouts, and track the deforestation of the Piney Woods. But as several East Texas city and county leaders learned Thursday, it can also be used as an economic development tool.
