CVD investigation report to be presented tonight
By ROBIN Y. RICHARDSON, News Messenger

City Secretary Lisa Agnor will disclose an investigative report at tonight's city commission meeting that reviews Convention and Visitor Development expenditures dating from 2001 to 2006.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the commission chambers at City Hall, 401 S. Alamo St.

The report is the result of an internal investigation of hotel-motel tax funds provided to the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce from the city of Marshall to operate the Convention and Visitors Development bureau.

"Lisa Agnor has overseen the evaluation of the information," said City Manager Frank Johnson.

He said Ms. Agnor and the accounting department started the internal investigation about a month ago after the city commission requested it.

"They had to go through the information and review each expenditure," Johnson said. "They prepared a list of questions and provided it to the Chamber of Commerce. We received responses back. Lisa's ready to make the report."
