A teacher is fined because she took her fifth grade class to the Dallas Museum of Art and a parent complained about a nude sculpture. This is a reason to have someone fined? Oh please listen to the numbers. Dallas Museum of Art hosts 50,000 school children a year. The Museum’s Education Director. Gail Darvitt is quoted in the “Dallas Morning News” that in her 20 years she can’t remember the Museum receiving another complaint from parents, teachers, or school boards about the art or its age-appropriateness.

What I find funny, and I am lifting right from the newspaper, no one involved in the controversy, not the offended parent or district officials has told the museum what piece provoked the complaint and the public is left not knowing what caused the problem.
