EDITORIAL: Certification as a retirement community
is key to attracting seniors
Part of the application process toward Nacogdoches' designation as a
Certified Retirement Community are letters of support from businesses, churches,
clubs and other entities as to whether such a designation would be of benefit to
the community or their organization, and if so, how.
The first question is easily answered in the affirmative. The answer to the
second seems equally obvious certainly retirees are an asset to any
community, both financially and socially.
Economic developers have realized that enticing baby boomers into spending
their "golden years" and the earnings they've spent a lifetime acquiring
pays, and pays well.
