There was an unusual show business happening before Tempest Storms year contract was out. This was the San Francisco debut of her daughter, Patti, renamed Summer Storm. I just found a review I wrote at the time and noticed how their styles were different.
Pattis birth name is Jeffries; her father is Herb Jeffries, the big band singer of the forties and at 90 can still belt them out. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
I will attempt to describe their acts, the similarities, vast differences, and end results.
Tempests act is classic striptease, rarely seen in this day and age. The complete performance is 15 to 25 minutes depending on the show in which she is appearing. It begins with a knock-um dead entrance accompanied by what we would call in the trade walking or strutting music. She is like a peacock with all its plumage in full glory and an attitude of sit back, relax, there is lots more to seethis is only the beginning.
