The future of Marshall's parks are on the line, according to organizers of the recently organized Friends of the Marshall Parks organization.
The group has a meeting set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at Marshall City Hall City Commission Chambers to discuss that future.
"Everyone is urged to attend, join the group and be a part of making all of Marshall parks safe places for our children and families to gather," said Shawne Somerford, an advocate for the city's parks. While city parks have gained increased attention in recent months, more input and support is needed, she said.
