This week local and out-of-town artists have a chance to experience large format painting at a master artist workshop taught by internationally known artist M. Douglas Walton.
The workshop is being held at the Marshall Visual Art Center, 208 E. Burleson St. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists paid $300 to attend the six-day class, which began Monday.
Walton said he has taught "encounter" workshops since 1984. The Oklahoma native, who now resides in Louisiana, said he originally began teaching architecture classes in 1975.
