The Saturday Health Fairs are one component of a three-year grant to promote healthy lifestyle choices throughout neighborhoods and communities in Marshall and Harrison County. This is an innovative partnership between Wiley College, East Texas Baptist University, specifically its School of Nursing, and Texas State Technical College that will benefit students at all three institutions and the community. The $90,000, three-year grant was awarded by the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation in partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) under its Learn and Serve America Higher Education Program.

The Saturday Health Fairs will include free mammogram, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings. East Texas Medical University of Tyler will provide free mammogram screenings during the Health Fair. Participants who desire a free mammogram screening must pre-register by calling the Wiley College Office of Church Relations at (903) 927-3391.
