The Gloria Kronenberg Reception at Michelson Museum -- by Richard Moore

The Michelson Museum of Art had a reception open to the public in honor of Mrs. Bernard Kronenberg. Mrs. Kronenberg, Gloria, has been very gracious and generous in donating dozens of paintings, drawings, lithographs and sculptures including works by Milton Avery, Joseph Stella, and Abraham Walkowitz. Her home at one time had 450 paintings because her late husband was an avid collector with a great eye. However, she admits music, opera, and dance are her main interests.

During our conversation at the reception someone said, “Oh my God, she is in the next room sitting and talking with Richard Moore and you never know what he will say.” I found this very amusing. Be at ease, we were discussing the religion and teachings of Buddha, and our mutual love of the ballet star, Dame Margot Fonteyn. I believe Gloria said she had taken a class with her. Our conversation continued with a discussion of opera.
