My friendship with Tempest Storm began, as I said, like we had known each other for years. At the time I was in constant contact with world known figures with the San Francisco Press Club. Being never shy and outspoken, I was always upfront and let the stars know I wanted only to showcase them in the best way possible and was not out to make a buck out of them. Then I ended with you cannot help me or hurt me. This always worked and Tempest knew she had a friend and one that was on her side thick or thin.
Her spacious apartment was in a new high rise on Nob Hill with a west view. This came with a great old doorman who always had a smile. Yes, in California, the all-important swimming poolthis time on a tenth floor annex with a moving glass ceiling. We both knew we were not in East Texas or Eastman, Georgia (birthplace of Annie Blanche Banks aka Tempest Storm). For The Storm the building was self-containeda beauty salon with Frank Townsend who was only THE best, high-end hair stylist in San Francisco, a gourmet food store and MaMas a to-die-for restaurant.
