The Annual Linden Lion's Follies will be held at the Music City Texas Theater this weekend on Friday and Saturday, September 15th and 16th. This year, the Follies takes on a new face, as the long-standing Follies Band has retired after almost 25 years of volunteer service. The good news is that Karaoke has soared in popularity, and fully orchestrated music tracks are readily available to accompany aspiring singers. “It made sense to me,” says Follies director Lion Richard Bowden, "that we could get more participation from the Linden-Kildare student body by doing the Follies ‘Karaoke style.’ It also gives us the opportunity to seek out new, upcoming talent from Linden-Kildare." He also added that “it takes some experience --- some getting used to --- to be able to sing with a live band, which, if we still had the band, would eliminate many of the younger folks from having the opportunity to perform in the Follies --- and I feel that it is important to nurture our youth in the creative arts.”
