Bishop Robert Hayes had congregation members in stitches this week during the First Methodist Church revival in Marshall especially when he told them about the time he impersonated famous football player Bob Hayes.
Dr. Hayes pranced up and down, shucking and jiving with his finger in the air. He was the image of a college student enjoying celebrity-status attention.
But then he got serious and talked about Jesus and when he did the bishops booming voice could be heard outside the front door, more than 30 feet away.
Amen, amen, floated up from the congregation.
