Marshall City Bond Propositions
Monday night, in a unanimous vote, the Marshall City Commission decided to put two propositions on a bond issue ballot; one for a new police-fire complex and another for capitol improvements for Marshall's Parks.

Both propositions will appear on the Nov. 7th General Election Ballot.

Previously the commission had considered $5.5 million for a new police and fire complex, plus two smaller propositions, one for about $500,000 for streets and another, about $230,000, for park improvements.

After considerable discussion, it was determined that it was counterproductive to obligate the city to pay back such small amounts for either streets or parks, when the principal in either case was not enough to make a dent in the needs of either department. So on a motion by Ed Carlile the commission voted to leave the police -fire complex funding at $5.5 million and move the entire remaining money, $730,000, to the parks.
