Several months ago the City Commission asked the City Attorney to look at the merits of Marshall considering a 4B status. The City Attorney reported that there was little merit and the City Commission dropped the subject.

Robert Johnson, Economic Development Specialist for the state feels strongly that there is merit in this discussion and stated this during his recent visit to Marshall.

Mr. Johnson, Economic Development Specialist, Texas Main Street Program, Community Heritage Development Division, Texas Historical Commission, Austin, Texas make his view known at the conclusion of a three day visit to Marshall. He said that the benefit of considering the 4B status was driven home as he listened to speaker after speaker address the City Commission on Thursday night.
