The long-vacant Marshall structure known as the Blue Buckle Building could have renewed life as the plans of Dallas real estate developer Robert Paredes and his ORION Development company materialize in coming months.

Paredes said on Friday he plans to invest between $4.5-and-$5 million renovating the 122,220-square-foot structure into mixed use "high-end lofts, retail office and meeting space." While a start date on work has not been set, he expects to make space in the building available by the second quarter of 2007.
