MAIN STREET TO LEAD THE WAY --- By Shawne Somerford
And already people stepping to the plate! On Tuesday I had the privilege of attending one of the Main Street Advisory Board Meetings. So many good things are on the horizon but many are actually RISING right over us. Henry Bradbury, Economic Restructuring Chair, Lori Farmer, Second Saturday Co-Chair and Bo Ellis, Main Street Manager all encouraged the Main Street Board to take Words & Voices under their wing. I was asked to work with the series to make sure it didnt SET with last weeks performance. In the same meeting Mr. Bradbury made a substantial financial contribution to ensure continued music on Second Saturday and behold within 24 hours Mr. Phil Latham with the Marshall News Messenger committed to do the same. I have been called the eternal optimist . on occasions such as this that optimism comes to pass. Thank you Main Street, thank you Henry Bradbury and thank you Phil Latham for making sure the sun never SETS on a good time in downtown Marshall, Texas. WORDS & VOICES will continue.
