Gubernatorial candidate Chris Bell said the state has become an "embarrassment" – a situation that new leadership would change.

Bell was hosted at a reception Tuesday afternoon at Central Perks Coffee Bar and Cafe in the Weisman Center by Texas Democratic Women of Harrison County.

During his local stop, Bell said he found many who agreed with him on education issues, which "dominated the conversation in Marshall today.
