City Managers Letter Causes Delay in Getting Tourism Study Underway

A Report from the Tourism Task Force Project Manager I thought by August 10th the Task Force would have had an initial meeting with our tourism consultant Destination Development (DD) and the Tourism Study would be underway. Unfortunately that will not happen and this is the direct result of a letter that City Manager Frank Johnson issued to Destination Development on July 19th. Let me tell you why we find ourselves in this situation.
During the proposal process the Project Manager served as the Point-of-Contact with all the firms that submitted proposals. That arrangement was established by the Task Force Steering Committee prior to issuing the Request for Proposal. There was also agreement that the PM would be the Point-of-Contact with the contractor after award of contract.
