Local designer Whimsey Moore has combined her degree in biology with her love of art in developing her new line of jewelry. She uses a scientific formula to preserve the caught specimen, attaches mounting hardware, and then applies an artistic touch to produce the final product. The pins sell in the price range of $25 to $100. Whimsey said that her jewelry is literally jumping off the shelf.
She said her Grasshopper series is the best selling series. Whimsey recently introduced the Scorpion series, for those women that want to project the bad girl image and the Lady Bug series for those more demure females.
