“That is a bunch of bull! The Congressman was protecting us when he tried to shorten the life of the Voting Rights Act. Just because the Voting Rights Act has worked well for the last 25 years is no reason to expect it will work well for the next 25 years. We are fighting a war and there are people out there that want to hurt us. The Congressman recognizes that they might use the Voting Rights Act to do that. Who knows – in ten years we may want to restrict voting in the name of national security. “ I think Congressman Gohmert is a forward thinking individual,” said Mr. Ray.
