Lack of cooperation cited as reason Ed Jasper may pull his funding

Philadelphia Eagles football player Ed Jasper may be taking his $4.5 million in investment funds somewhere besides Marshall if he doesn't receive better cooperation from city officials, according to Joyce Jeter, who is assisting with the project.
Jasper has offered to purchase lots taken due to delinquent taxes to build low-to-moderate housing on the property and City Manager Frank Johnson has been slow in completing the process since the idea was presented to the Marshall City Commission, said Ms. Jeter.
"We wanted to know why it was taking so long and what we can do to speed up the process," Ms. Jasper said of a meeting Wednesday between Johnson, Jasper and herself.
