Marshall's Sales tax rebates flatten out
By MIKE ELSWICK, Managing Editor
Sunday, June 11, 2006
Marshall's long run of economic growth reflected in monthly sales tax figures appears to be slowing down some but not to the point of causing alarm or indicating a trend yet, according to City Manager Frank Johnson.
In figures released Friday by the Texas Comptroller's office, Marshall's sales tax revenues for the first six months of 2006 tracked 8.5 percent ahead of last year's pace for the same period. But city sales tax revenues for June were up only 1.24 percent from June 2005.
