Speak Back 153: The World According to Billy Bob Ray
Speak Out!

I have a neighbor who lives too close to me and she comes to my house every day? I am a working women and I need my rest.

Speak Back!

There are two approaches that you can use.

You can be confrontational and say something like:

“Unlike you I don’t have a man supporting me and I don’t have time to sit on my a_ _ and listen to my lazy neighbor run her mouth.”

While this will work. It could cause hard feelings between you and your neighbor. We recommend an alternative approach. You might say something like:

“I too am a working women and I have Johns visiting this house all hours of the day and the night. Every hour I spend listening to your interesting conversation is one hour of lost income for me. So while I would much rather spend quality time with you, financial obligations will not permit this.”

This should work nicely provided you neighbor is not in law enforcement.
