The Cypress Valley Navigation District board of directors has dedicated $25,000 to a water hyacinth spraying program for Caddo Lake and has hired a company to distribute the herbicide, according to Ken Shaw, board chairman.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Biologist Howard Elder has worked with his department to get the necessary permits and Aquatic Management will begin spraying this month, Shaw said, adding the Tyler company has sprayed Caddo on a previous occasion.
