In our on-going effort to keep you abreast of the news, last week we brought you the, shall we say, undercover reasons why Ron Munden was not chosen to be the manager of a task force on tourism at the last commission meeting.

I don't imagine that you found it to be, well, uplifting.

Because it turns out that the reason Munden wasn't chosen is that he chose to use a small billboard he has on U.S. 80 to put up a collection of bras.

To interrupt myself in the name of full disclosure, Munden's East Texas Towns Online and The Marshall News Messenger do not share any sort of formal relationship, though you will find a great many stories from the our newspaper posted on his site.

This came about, really, as a disagreement. I noticed our stories there, called Munden and complained about it. We came to a telephone agreement that he could continue posting a small portion of the story if he linked the rest of the story to our own www.marshallnewsmessenger.com.

Problem solved and he's lived up to his word.

It also should be noted that Munden and this newspaper have often disagreed. He's taken me to task several times. Unlike some others, he's done it in a professional way, though and, even if he hadn't, it is almost impossible to hurt my feelings.
