On behalf of the Marshall Regional Arts Council, we’d like to inform you that the Arts Council--with the gracious cooperation of the Marshall Visual Art Center--will be sponsoring its second annual “Great East Texas Arts Competition” on Thursday evening, June 8, 2006.

As you may know, we initiated the juried arts competition last summer as a way to provide an opportunity for fine visual artists in our region (e.g. painters, watercolorists, sculptors, etc.) to exhibit a piece of art as part of a juried competition with a chance to win the $1,500 award prize from the Arts Council.

It also provides an opportunity for community members and tourists to view work by artists in our wonderful and burgeoning East Texas arts community.
