Marshall city commissioners authorized the creation of a Tourism Task Force at its regular meeting Thursday, but disagreed on whether it should designate a project manager to work with the group.
The commissioners acknowledged there should be a group with the objective of boosting tourism and businesses that have been involved with building up downtown should have some say in the plan.
"I see an improvement downtown," said District 5 Commissioner John Wilborn. "It's moving downtown. If we have people investing in buildings that have been vacant for years...they should have input."
