In an email Mr. Fitts said all committees were already required to operate under the Open Meetings Act since it is part of their by-laws.

Based on this information, we questioned WHY the City Commission needed to pass the resolution.

We still do not know WHY but in a telephone conversation on Tuesday with City Attorney Todd Fitts, he said that the resolutions were placed on the agenda at the request of Marshall City Manager – Frank Johnson.
