For several months now, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has been trying to get a clear message through to the promoters of the Industrial Site at Caddo Lake scheme. She has not been successful. They don’t hear her when she tells them their plan to take 1,500 to 2,000 acres away from the Wildlife Refuge aint gonna happen.

It will be interesting to see if President George W. Bush’s recent hint to these folks improves their hearing.

If you didn’t see this for yourself, you might have trouble believing it. A story in the Lone Star Eagle’s February 23, 2006 edition actually quotes President Bush expressing more than a moderate amount of concern over Caddo Lake – and explicitly asking visitors from Marshall “ARE YOU PROTECTING CADDO LAKE?”
