In this weeks issue of the Lone Star Eagle, often known as the non-liberal media (NLM), The Publishers attempted to rationalize the methods that Judge McWhorter used to conduct his secret poll. I think most will agree that their explanation is a far stretch.
The NLM pointed out that Judge McWhorter did want to keep his survey a secret from everyone except the NLM.
The NLM article states, It was the Judges intent to have a quick turn-around (Feb 17) so that the postcards could not be duplicated or collected by one faction or the other to distort the survey. He obviously accomplished his purpose.
The NLM article proudly points out For crying out loud, it was on the front page of this newspaper the day it was put in the mail.
On the Tuesday morning before the mailer hit, EastTexasOnline.com called the Judge and specifically left a message on his voice mail asking about the mailer. Our calls were never returned. At the same time the NLM was being kept fully informed. This differential treatment of the media amounts to stacking the deck. I must assume that too was part of the Judges plan.
