A barbeque to raise money for the future home of the Humane Society of Harrison County will be held Saturday at the Uncertain Flea Market in Uncertain.

Sponsored by businessman Dick Cole, the benefit for the Humane Society will honor the memory of the late Rayford “Bud” McCracken, Jr., who loved dogs and rescued dozens of stray dogs over the years. Mr. McCracken died recently after a battle with cancer, and before he died he found homes for his beloved 11 dogs.

"Bud McCracken loved dogs and we wanted to honor him and raise money to build a new Humane Society," said Barbara Thompson, a Humane Society member who is helping Mr. Cole with the fundraiser.
