Some well-intentioned but under-informed establishment folks are beating the bushes to scare up the usual suspects to attend a so-called public hearing to support some grand but undefined industrial megasite at Caddo Lake.
This too-little, too-late scramble to revive a faulty proposal is like holding a Pep Rally for USC Trojans six weeks after the Rose Bowl. Anyone who shows up to cheer for the Trojans or the Industrial proposal hasnt been reading the newspapers -- and is out of step with the times.
Federal law provides that first claim on Longhorn lands goes to another federal agency in this case the Department of Interior, which is establishing a National Wildlife Refuge at Caddo Lake.

Because of a large outpouring of support for using the land for wildlife habitat and recreation, Interior decided to act.
