LOCAL BLUES BAND HEADS FOR MEMPHIS

The Shagbark Blues Society, out of Paris, Texas, will be sponsoring local blues favorite Diddley Squat at the 2006 International Blues Challenge (IBC) on January 26, 27, and 28. The International Blues Challenge is the largest gathering of Blues bands in the world and represents an international search by The Blues Foundation and its Affiliated Organizations (mostly blues societies) for the Blues Band and Solo/Duo Blues Act ready to perform on a national stage, but just need that extra break. Each Affiliate of The Blues Foundation has the right to send a band and solo/duo act to represent the organization at the IBC. This is yet another record-breaking year for this event. Over 130 acts will play in 11 venues on Beale Street for two nights of semi-finals.
