Our View from MNM: A plan for tourism
City Manager Frank Johnson told the Marshall City Commission at a January meeting that the city was looking at ways to improve tourism in Marshall. He said he wanted to consider hiring consultants to help the current partnership between the city and Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce generate more traffic.

It is obviously a positive sign that the city has become energized about tourism, though it comes about two years after the state sent a team to Marshall and developed about 40 pages worth of suggestions. If the changes that have been made here are to stick, it is obvious that we are going to need more tourists.

It is not so much a matter that what we are doing now is failing – we don't believe that to be true at all – just more a matter that we need to develop a higher gear.
