When I attend a City or County meeting I always leave with questions. Such was the case at the conclusion of last Mondays County Commission meeting.

The final item, number 21 on the agenda, to appoint new board members to the Cypress Valley Navigation District, resulted in an excellent and well though out presentation by current CVND chairman Ken Shaw, outlining the Districts goals for the coming year, and his board’s request for filling the vacancies. Mr. Shaw expressed his board’s unanimous request, as well as outgoing members request to have Mr. Paul Fortune re-appointed. The board’s second request was to appoint Terry Echols to fill the second vacancy, and cited the reasons why, both he and the board felt Mr. Echols was qualified to serve.
