My decision to run for the office of Harrison County Treasure is based on my desire to contribute to sound local government. Capable, credible individuals must be willing to step forward and run for office if our valuable democratic system is to work successfully.

Elected officials are accountable primarily to the voters. If there is no challenge to those who hold office, there is less accountability and less reason for the individual in office to perform responsibly. I am running to give the voters of Harrison County a viable choice who they want to serve them in this office.

My basic philosophy of government goes against the grain of the traditional practice of speed more and more. John Sharp, Democrat and State Comptroller, introduced the “More for Less” concept into state government in the 1980s.
