Tourism: Caddo Lake gets good press in Audubon
Provided by: Tom Allin
Audubon Jan.-Feb 2006: TEXAS: Caddo and the Big Thicket: Secrets of the
Pineywoods. "Here, too, abide the hidden treasures of Caddo, the state's
only major natural lake, a mysterious maze of cypress-laden bayous, sloughs,
backwaters, ponds and open waters that draws migrating birds in spring and
fall. ......" This was a part of a seven page Special Advertising Feature
titled Texas. p. 65-71.
Although Caddo only had 24 lines out of 800+, it is a start. In the past
when reading these types of "placed" articles rarely was Caddo mentioned.
Hopefully we can get the State of Texas to provide us more free advertising
on Caddo and at the same time also get the names of Uncertain, Jefferson and
Marshall in print.
