Opinion: Its Time to Rethink The Wonderland of Lights by Ron Munden

Downtown merchants say that the number of visitors was down this year, and very few tour busses in the evening. As they were in past years, residential areas are not lighted with the enthusiasm and spirit of the season. One out-of-town journalist reports that Marshalls lights are nothing special. When I visited Marshall some 15 years ago, I saw a new and lively Wonderland. Time has taken its toll. Many of the lights have burn out and so has the local enthusiasm.
The Marshall News Messenger ran an Our View article entitled: Wonderland's 20th can be the best ever. I agree with much that was included in that article.
