City building codes a stumbling block to building renovation

By JULIA ROBB, Special Projects Editor MNM Marshall developer Juli Jameson believes city commissioners must adopt an international building code that makes it easier for owners to renovate historic buildings. Otherwise, she believes downtown renovation will languish.
Ms. Jameson said she has slowed or curtailed her renovation work because the present building code makes it so much more difficult to renovate historic structures.
