Harrison County's pitch to lure a $1 billion zero emissions power plant came up short Thursday in regional judging to determine which of five proposals would represent East Texas at state level competition for the proposed FutureGen plant.
After a day full of presentations and questions for spokesmen who presented the proposals, members of the East Texas Council of Governments' site selection committee tapped Anderson County's proposal.
Other proposals were made by spokesmen from Rusk County, Henderson County and, in a joint pitch, from Smith and Cherokee counties.
