The editorial did a good job of addressing those things it addressed. But to this reader’s mind, the editorial failed to address the single most important element that is out of synch with Marshall’s interest in, and need for, economic development through tourism.

Hint: It starts with “M” and ends with “EDCO.”

The News Messenger piece was inspired by comments made by downtown Marshall developer Jerry Cargill regarding the visit to the area last week of Stan Hodge, Director of Tourism Research in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism.
