Marketers have just about covered the sexualized version of breasts, thighs and hips.
Perhaps that's why three male artists hope their nudes and portraits of women will offer a more mysterious and awe-inspiring view of femininity.
"Three Visions of the Feminine," an exhibit opening Saturday at the Bistineau Gallery, is a male perspective on the female form by artists Tony Reans, Andre Weatherly and Dennis O'Bryant.
Rebecca Hudsmith, Bistineau Gallery owner, began toying with the idea of a masculine take on femininity after a successful all-women show last summer. She asked the three male artists, whose subject matter she has followed closely over recent months, to participate in a joint exhibit when she noticed all three began to explore the feminine form in their work at roughly the same time.
