Texas State Rep. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, will do the honors Wednesday evening to kick off Marshall's annual holiday lighting extravaganza.
The opening ceremony is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the downtown square in front of the historic Harrison County Courthouse. This is the 18th year for what organizers refer to as the "grandaddy" of all Christmas light festivals in Texas.
For early risers who want to get a jump on participating in Wonderland, a regional television station will be in Marshall from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. filming a segment promoting the event, said Geraldine Mauthe, director of convention and visitor development for the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce.
