Ashli Acker Accepts Position With Clear Channel Radio
Marshall, TX - The voice of KMHT 103.9 FM in the morning, Ashli Acker, will grow silent in the Marshall area on Monday morning, November 14. Miss Acker has accepted a position with Clear Channel, Inc. in Oklahoma City. She initially came to Marshall in 2003 after completing her broadcasting degree at the American Broadcasting School in Dallas. She began her morning show stint with KMHT in 2004 and has served the Marshall community through volunteer work with the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, the Wonderland of Lights Board of Directors and other civic organizations. "I have absolutely loved being here in Marshall. Not only because my parents are here, but also because the people are so wonderful," said Acker. "Although I was born in Texas, I basically grew up near Oklahoma City so it's almost like going back home for me." Acker will be the agri-reporter for Clear Channel, Inc. and her agriculture reports will be broadcast throughout a 20-state region reaching approximately 100 markets over the Clear Channel network. Clear Channel, Inc. is a global communications network with operational hubs located throughout the world. Part of her duties will include working as a producer for sports broadcasts.
"As much as I have enjoyed my tenure at KMHT and Marshall, this is the opportunity of a lifetime that I simply can't pass up," she said. "I'll miss everyone so much."
